I've never been a big fan of superheroes. I mean, not that I hate, it's just that I have never made a fool. Even as a kid.
Something goes wrong is not bad, mind you. Batman, say, not bad. The Punisher but I have never said or bi or ba. Except when the writes Garth Ennis, of course. But just because Garth Ennis comics is strange.
Yes, I like Ennis.
If I had been asked 20 years ago to choose a writer with whom I work wanted to know what I say? Yes? Wrong, I would not have said Ennis. I replied Neil Gaiman. But if they had put the same question 10 years ago I would have said Ennis. If you would lay me today I could only say that I'm lucky because my favorite writers are those which actually work, and then I'd say it's okay (except for Thomas Destefanis which is one of my absolute favorites, but with which I just made a table-shot - and here sooner or later we must remedy, Tommy!).
But back to Garth Ennis. E 'in bookstores for several months in an essay published by Editions Ennis XII. It 's a beautiful tome more than 340 pages. But really that great.
If you happen in the library have a look. If you need to know Ennis procure this book. If you do not know him then you must get the book plus a large number of comic books. In the book there is also a wonderful gallery curated by Smoky and implemented by some of the greatest Italian designers. The Punisher (rieccolo!) of Pagliaro worth the price of the volume. And yes, I'm here too (yeah, I too am one of the greatest Italian designers, you just do not do it weigh more so we are all happy!).
